ABBOTT LONDON MARATHON

Running Diagnostics Analysis

The Abbott Pharmaceuticals “Running Diagnostics” experience at the London Marathon uses BrightLogic’s integrated sensors in the LED flooring to determine the position, speed and gait of the runner’s feet as they run down a 32ft path. As each person’s foot touches the floor, the sensors detect the position of the foot, depending on the size of the foot, from 4 to 10 sensors are triggered, which provides plenty of detail to determine the gait of the runner and then compare that data to a professional Marathon runner’s gait.

The Running Diagnostics installation uses a low profile 3” high Interactive LED Panel with a 5.9mm pixel pitch. Each panel has 64 integrated sensors that respond to touch within 33 milliseconds.
